Today is a celebration! Exactly 95 years ago, on April 16, 1926, Jan Kennis Sr. (great-grandfather of our current director Tobias Kennis) founded Kennis Transport. Definitely a day to remember.
In the first years, Kennis Transport was a potato trade company with 2 trucks. During the second world war, Jan Kennis Sr. died at the age of 51. Both sons, Frans and Wim Kennis, took over the company from their father. After the war, Wim Kennis left the company and Frans Kennis decided to focus more on transport, which meant that the potato trade company was a thing of the past.
In 1973, the son of Frans Kennis came to work in the company. Jan Kennis Jr. was 21 years old at the time and in 1986 he took over the company from his father. Kennis Transport had now grown into a transport company specialized in transports to and from France and the Benelux.
In 1990, the company moved from Zundert to Hazeldonk, where it is still located today. In 1997, Tobias Kennis , son of Jan Kennis Jr., joined the company and in 2019, Tobias Kennis took over the company from his father, making the company now in the hands of the 4th generation.
Kennis Transport has developed over the years from a potato trader to an international logistics company with over 150 employees. Kennis offers transport and forwarding services throughout Europe. But Kennis also offers 'Value Added Logistics' activities from its various warehouses. Kennis uses the 'non stop shopping' principle, whereby the customer is completely relieved of all worries. The pre-transport (as well as sea transport), customs clearance, storage, handling of goods and distribution, is all done in house.
Kennis Transport & Logistics BV is proud of all its employees who work hard every day to serve its customers. Without all the employees, Kennis Transport & Logistics BV could not have achieved this beautiful anniversary! Full of confidence we will add many more years to this beautiful anniversary!
